No. Women aged 16 to 64 can be assessed and treated directly at the pharmacy under the HSC Pharmacy First scheme.
Is there a charge?
The Pharmacy First UTI service is free of charge.
What happens during the consultation?
A pharmacist will ask about your symptoms in a private area of the pharmacy. They may ask for a urine sample. If appropriate, treatment is provided on the spot.
